Welcome to the first post in a series I’m calling New Light 101, a beginner’s guide to Destiny 2. One common point of criticism after Destiny 2 went free-to-play is that the game really doesn’t give you much guidance once you complete the introductory quest, throwing you into a big ecosystem with very little to tell you what you should be doing next. It’s my hope that this series will help.
This post will start with the basics: what is Destiny, how do you get it, and where should you start? It’ll also go into the content available for free, what you can unlock through purchases, and a variety of helpful resources.
