A very spooky Festival of the Lost 2020 guide

In a normal year, Festival of the Lost would be the holiday event for the fall season of Destiny 2, but in a year that’s been anything but normal, things have shifted around a bit. Due to the delay of Beyond Light to November 10th, Season of Arrivals has been extended, but just because the summer season is going on longer than normal doesn’t mean that the Festival has been canceled. Not even the invasion of the Pyramids will stop Guardians from gorging themselves on candy once again.

Festival of the Lost 2020 runs from October 6th through November 3rd, so there’s a full month to earn goodies and scare your friends. Read on to learn more about the return of the Haunted Forest, new rewards, and secrets.

Season of Opulence guide: The Menagerie, the Tribute Hall, and Crown of Sorrow

The final season of Destiny 2’s second year, and the last one to have content that will be going into the DCV this year, season 7 marked the Season of Opulence. Guardians returned once again to the Leviathan at the invitation of Emperor Calus, who wished to shower us with gifts and get us to stand by his side when the Darkness returned. He also had a couple problems onboard that needed to be dealt with, but at least you’d get rewarded for it.

This guide will cover all of season 7’s content, including the Menagerie, the Tribute Hall, and the Crown of Sorrow raid, as well as the Chalice of Opulence and exotic quests. There’s a fair amount to cover, so let’s head back to the Leviathan one more time.

Season of the Drifter guide: Gambit Prime, the Reckoning, and Zero Hour

My very long series of guides to past seasons moves right along into Destiny 2’s sixth season, Season of the Drifter. Focused primarily on the character of the Drifter (naturally), the second Annual Pass update, Joker’s Wild, introduced a new variant of Gambit, gave more characterization to the enigmatic Drifter, and added further details about the mysterious Nine. A lot of the story in this season was setting up for bigger story beats to come, so if it feels a little light on story, don’t worry, Bungie did get back to it soon enough (this season, in fact!).

This guide will briefly talk about the differences between Gambit and Gambit Prime, go over the Gambit Prime armor sets and how to acquire them from the Reckoning, and delve into a variety of quests added during the season, including a particularly fun secret mission. Time to be bad guys.

Season of Arrivals: The second half of the Exodus quest, and a new exotic

We’re approaching the tail end of season 11 now, and while I thought that we’d also be seeing the finale of the Interference mission, it seems that this week is just a repeat of last week’s mission. It’s possible that Bungie changed the date of the season’s finale event when the launch date for Beyond Light was postponed, so it may be another week or two until we wrap up Eris’s search for answers, maybe more.

However, we did get a new content drop this week, in the form of the second part of the Exodus questline, Exodus: Evacuation. This one’s a little more involved than the first part, and once again, you’ll be heading to each of the to-be-vaulted destinations to help your allies wrap up their unfinished business before evacuating.

This is also the second (and presumably final) exotic quest of the season, rewarding a weapon that should be familiar to anyone who remembers the very beginning of the Red War campaign. You’ll also score a few other item rewards along the way that will help you fill out your collection of Nightfall rewards from year 1.

Season of Arrivals: New quests, new exotic, and more pyramids

With update 2.9.1 this week, the next phase of the Season of Arrivals has begun, and it’s done so in a pretty flashy way. Aside from the Moments of Triumph event kicking off, the Pyramid ships have moved in on more worlds, and Zavala is requesting your aid in helping those stationed abroad. Meanwhile, the Pyramid above Io is offering a gift, one that you’ll craft into a new exotic weapon with Eris’s help.

The situation is looking more dire, but it’s always darkest before the dawn. With that in mind, let’s dive into what’s new and score some rewards in the process.

Curse of Osiris guide: Campaign, quests, and the Infinite Forge

Continuing my series of guides on each release of Destiny 2, we move forward to season 2 with the Curse of Osiris expansion. Although widely considered one of the lower points of Destiny 2, if not the lowest, there’s still some good content to enjoy.

Pretty much everything that will be covered in this guide will be vaulted come Beyond Light, so if you want to experience any of it, you only have a couple more months to do so. Without further adieu, let’s head to the sun-scorched sands of Mercury and save Osiris from the Vex!
