Love in your sights: Crimson Days 2020 guide

Crimson Days, Destiny’s Valentine’s Day-themed holiday, is back again this year, running from February 11th through the 18th. Whether you’re a hopeless romantic with an eye for love, or a cynic who thinks Valentine’s Day is a holiday invented to sell chocolates and greeting cards, you can find the partner of your dreams or work out your frustrations in the standard Guardian way: killing each other repeatedly.

The event is pretty similar to last year’s, but there are some new rewards to unlock in addition to various returning items if you missed out on them before. Here’s a brief guide to the event, covering Crimson Doubles, loot, and Triumphs.

Season of Dawn: Guide to Triumphs, Collections, and getting it all done in time

Now that we’re in the endgame for season 9, it’s your last chance to finish up the various activities in the season before they go away and claim your rewards. Even if you’re late to the party, you’ve got time to knock it all out before season 10 begins on March 3rd. You don’t even have to break the timeline to do it!

To that end, here’s a guide on the various Triumphs, item collections, and questlines you’ll want to get done if you want that shiny Savior title!

Season of Dawn: Navigating the season’s climax event

We’re in the home stretch of season 9 now, and with today’s reset come a few new additions to shake things up a little. From catch-up mechanisms for those starting late to a new community-wide event, from a new boss in the Sundial to an easy way to grind weapon rolls, it makes for a much more interesting climax than the Undying Mind.

So what’s changed since last week?

Quick Tip: How to get into the Corridors of Time, post-patch

On Tuesday, patch 2.7.1 was released for Destiny 2. While it had the unintended side effect of severely messing with players’ inventories, to the extent of Bungie performing their first-ever character rollback, an intended change was the removal of access to the Corridors of Time, the puzzle event that started on January 14th and was solved a few days later. Any player who didn’t run through it for the emblem and lore book before Tuesday sadly missed out.

However, a glitch has been discovered that enables players to access the Corridors again, provided you have at least one character that hasn’t rescued Saint-14 yet. The glitch is pretty simple, and you can use it to get both the emblem and the complete Pigeon and the Phoenix lore book.

Season of Dawn: How to prepare for the Empyrean Foundation event

Bungie has released details on the next community event to come to Destiny 2: the Empyrean Foundation. Similar to the Mars community event last summer, the Empyrean Foundation will see the entire playerbase coming together in pursuit of a common goal.

The event starts on February 4th, but there are a few things you can do now to prepare.

Season of Dawn intro: Questlines, Obelisks, and the Sundial

Well we’re a bit over halfway through the season, so much of this is probably late (I swear, by season 10 I should have a good rhythm down), but for those who are coming in late, I figure it can be useful to go over how to get started with the season’s content. And considering the Corridors of Time will be disappearing in a couple days, and you need to complete these quests to access it, a brief guide on how to get these done should probably help!

This post will talk about where to go to get started, the intro questlines, how to rescue Saint-14 and what you can do for him afterwards, and the mechanics of the Obelisks and the Sundial seasonal activity.

Corridors of Time solved! How to obtain the exotic fusion rifle Bastion

Well that was fast. Less than a day after my previous post, and the Corridors of Time have been solved! Now we know the result: the puzzle enabled us to begin the quest for Bastion, the first kinetic fusion rifle, a week early. The questline is relatively short and shouldn’t take more than a couple of hours to complete.

But before we get to that, I’ve got a community-related topic to discuss.

The Corridors of Time: How to help solve the biggest Destiny puzzle yet

I’m a bit late on my posts on the Season of Dawn intro (swear I’ll get around to it yet), but considering this is a current event, I figure I’ll help do my part in signal boosting.

With the Tuesday reset, Bungie has added what could possibly be the largest puzzle in Destiny history. Bigger than finding the Wall of Wishes codes, bigger than Niobe Labs, even bigger than Outbreak Prime. But this isn’t a puzzle that one person can solve alone. This is 100% a community effort, and you can help too.

So what’s this puzzle all about?

Give the gift of carnage: The Dawning 2019 guide

A chill is in the air as winter returns to Destiny, and with it comes the Dawning, the winter seasonal holiday event. Running from December 17th through January 14th, the Dawning offers up four weeks of baking, snowball fights, and plenty of gifts to go around.

Much of the event should be familiar to anyone who played last year, but there are a couple of new additions, new Triumphs, and new rewards. If you missed out last year, most of what you missed has made a return, so you’ve got plenty of opportunity to get caught up.

Put on your warmest armor and equip your Solar subclasses (to stay toasty, of course), and let’s dive into this winter wonderland!

Season of Dawn preview: New story, activities, and loot

With Season of the Undying winding down, Bungie has dropped the first info on season 9, known as Season of Dawn. And man, if that header image isn’t enough to get you excited, I don’t know what will.

Through the teaser video, website, and preview stream, we’re getting a good amount of juicy details about the next chapter in Destiny 2’s story, as well as a clearer understanding of the “evolving world” that Bungie is trying to deliver on. So let’s talk about what’s coming in less than one week.
